Introduction

Ride Modes:

• MX Mode:The standard algorithm for traditional motocross tracks and the recommended default
• MX Race Mode:A desensitized mode for pro-level riding, raising the parameters for a “crash” detection
• Enduro Mode:Optimized for lower-to-medium speeds, trail riding, woods racing, and dual-sport
• Rally Mode: Dakar Rally inspired algorithm for high-speed off-road use

Airbag Technology:

• User-replaceable CO2 canister
• A result of algorithm data collected from pro riders like Austin Forkner and Jordan Smith since 2016
• Monitors movement via one Tri-Axial Accelerometer and one Tri-Axial Gyroscope (6 axes total)
• Communicates every millisecond for immediate and precise crash detection

• Airbag deflates in about 4-5 seconds post-detection, allowing the rider to remount and continue

  Functionality:

  • The system powers on and runs diagnostics as soon as the left side strap is closed

  • Mode selection is easily changed via the Tech-Air App or a two-second hold on the control panel button
  • USB-C charging port; the control panel is entirely removable for cleaning and storage
  • Fully charged battery provides approximately 30 hours of active ride time

Riders like Austin Forkner and Jordan Smith have been integral to the system’s development, providing real-world data that refines the logic for detecting a catastrophic crash and ensures the unit is ready to save your day before you even hit the dirt.

  Unmatched Absorption

  While your traditional roost guard and back protector offer valuable protection, the Tech-Air MX provides a force field of safety that traditional armor simply cannot match. With a full airbag deployment, the system offers up to 90% more impact absorption across your chest, shoulders and back compared to static CE Level 1 armor. The difference between a season-ending injury and getting back on the bike could be the 40-millisecond deployment window of this system, drastically reducing the forces transmitted to your body.

  Seamless Integration

  Despite the advanced technology housed within, the Tech-Air MX is engineered to feel like your normal chest protector. The main chassis is constructed from a combination of mesh and foam-backed mesh, promoting airflow and a balanced feel. The system powers on automatically as soon as the main left-side strap is secured. Once you are out on the track, the brain monitors movement through six-axis sensors every millisecond. After deployment, the bag quickly deflates (in about 4-5 seconds) so you can get up and decide to either finish the moto or head back to the pits, minimizing downtime.

  Algorithms for Every Ride

  The Tech-Air MX is smarter than a one-size-fits-all approach. Through the accompanying app or the control panel, you can select from four unique off-road algorithms to match your riding style: MX, the standard track algorithm; MX Race, a desensitized mode for pro-level aggression; Enduro, for lower speeds and trail/woods riding and racing; and Rally, the high-speed algorithm used in Dakar. This adaptability ensures that the system is only deploying when you truly need it, keeping you protected and minimizing unnecessary canister changes.
